Solder paste is used for surface mount technology of printed circuit boards to connect the components to the copper traces of a pcb board. Because the paste is sticky it keeps therefor the component on its place. Then it will be heated (the whole pcb) by a reflow oven and the paste will melt and forms a mechanical connection. Solder paste will be applied to the board by a screenprinter and then the pick and place machine will put the components in place.
